Delineation of Bicol's forest boundary lines to be completed by 2011

LEGAZPI CITY - The delineation of forest boundary lines in the Bicol region is expected to be completed by year 2011.

As of now, all forest boundary lines in the provinces of Albay and Catanduanes have been already delineated.

Last year's accomplishment was 2,074.952 kilometers delineated and 27,740.623 hectares assessed in Camarines Sur. Camarines Norte and Sorsogon, a DENR report says.

The strategy of delineating forest line boundary is intended to reduce and ease the problem of dealing with resident population on public lands and other areas of the public domain.

The delineation is the survey and demarcation on the ground of permanent forest boundary line marked with concrete monuments, while site assessment is conducted for reversion to forest lands and areas proposed for release to alienable and disposable lands.
